LASER ENGRAVING SPECIALIST

We seek to hire a positive, energetic, and self-motivated individual to produce high quality signs by programming, setting up, and operating laser engraving machines; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Operate laser engraving machinery to produce fine quality products per client specifications. Product materials include plastic, metal, wood, and glass
  • Load and arrange all order artwork in Adobe Illustrator, Epilog, and Universal software
  • Troubleshoot variances in materials and make machine adjustments accordingly
  • Perform thorough cleaning and quality checks of all products before passing them on to Assembly
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on all equipment

SECONDARY DUTIES

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest engraving technologies and materials by networking with other professionals, vendors, and attending workshops
  • Contribute to high-level discussions about department operations and growth

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must have previous experience with operating laser engravers, rotary engravers, and or CNC routers
  • Candidates must have experience with maintaining shop equipment, as well as troubleshooting and diagnosing machine failure
  • Previous experience with vector-based software such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw is preferred

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Become intimate with Office Sign Company's products, services, culture, and staff. As a key component in our production department, it's imperative for an eligible candidate to become immersed in our company processes
  • Aid with the installation calendar, bridging the gap between production and account managers to assist with client installs
  • Prepare signage products for installation, and successfully install said products on a variety of different surface types (including glass, drywall, brick, concrete, and more)
  • Ensure that the right materials, equipment, and personnel are accounted for prior to any sign installation job
  • Work with our Production Manager and departmental heads to cross-train in every production department, being able to fill in and assist wherever the need may be
  • Continually research best practices, industry trends, and installation techniques, so as to ensure that we are utilizing the highest level of quality in our sign production and installation work
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients for whom we are installing signage projects
  • Have an eye for excellent design, and a solid understanding of how to turn great designs into beautifully finished products

  • Develop and Manage the Company’s Brand(s), so as to bolster the reputation of Office Sign Company and ensure the company’s longevity
    • Develop the Brand: institute a brand guideline for all marketing and PR messaging and imagery, create video and photo content to share across platforms, consistently analyze company’s logos, letterheads, design components, etc. and suggest improvements, and find new partnership opportunities in the local environment and beyond
    • Manage the Brand: stay up to date on brand management best practices, spot all incidences of language or imagery not meeting brand status and remove or modify them, and make sure to educate all individuals who have a voice on behalf of OSC on how to effectively communicate brand. Also, provide pamphlets, brochures, booklets, and other resources for sales team members to introduce new individuals to Office Sign Company and its affiliate brands
  • Disseminate Corporate Messaging, so as to keep all necessary stakeholders informed on developments within our products, people, and processes
    • Social Media: post 5 times per week on Facebook, 5 times per week on Twitter, 1 time per week on LinkedIn, 2 times per week on Instagram, and 1 time per week on Google+. Also look out for new opportunities on Pinterest, Snapchat, and other social media forms
    • Blogging: post 1 blog per week on Blogger, with at least 3 backlinks on each post to OfficeSignCompany.com or an affiliate brand
    • Press Releases: submit 1 national press release per quarter, and 3 local press releases per quarter. In addition, submit press releases whenever new hires are added, or individuals within the company are promoted. Make sure each press release has a minimum of 1 backlink to OfficeSignCompany.com
    • Newsletters: post 6 newsletters per month (between brands)
    • Other: look for opportunities to post sponsored content, do affiliate marketing on industry blogs, attend radio shows or podcasts to discuss company happenings, be present on TV stations, etc.
  • Create and Execute PR Campaigns, so as to allow Office Sign Company and its affiliate brands an opportunity to gain further traction on sales leads and partnership opportunities
    • Run ONE PR Campaign per month, on average. This can range from a campaign for bolstering sales of specific products (i.e. “30 Days of Swag”) to a campaign for partnering with local nonprofits to receive cause marketing buzz (i.e. United Way “Thankful Campaign.”) to a campaign that aims at launching a whole new line or company offering (i.e. “Fargo Creatives Shirt Collection”). These larger-scale campaigns will draw most of the marketing/PR attention that month
    • All Campaigns should have marketing plans attached to them, including research, target marketing, projections, budgets, etc. (see sample Marketing Plans in Z drive)
  • Oversee the Continued Growth of Office Sign Company in the Eyes of Our Customer, Our Community, and Our Staff
    • With Staff - be involved in Culture Committee, oversee bi-weekly company newsletters, and innovate new ways to communicate company happenings internally
    • With Customers - conduct random acts of kindness for customers (once per month), write features on new customers, and make sure all customers are feeling valued. Find ways to thank those who leave us reviews and incentivize more reviews coming in
    • With Community - oversee OSCares volunteer committee by finding volunteer opportunities, take part in key sponsorship conversations, and find partnership opportunities with local companies to help both parties grow

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Become intimate with Office Sign Company’s products, services, culture, and staff. As one of the primary voices on behalf of Office Sign Company and its brands, it is of immense importance that you have a full understanding of what makes our company special

  • Plan, post, and reply to social media messages for Office Sign Company (and its related brands) on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and more
  • Create compelling content, including blogs, website content, newsletters, press releases, and more, that will serve to educate our current and future customers, increase the effectiveness of our brand messaging, and engage our readers
  • Serve as an irreplaceable fixture to our public relations efforts, allowing us to increase awareness as it relates to marketing initiatives, new products, company happenings, and more. These PR efforts should be both internal (within our company) and external (stakeholders such as customers, community, and industry)
  • Take initiative in game-planning and executing upon marketing campaigns aimed at increasing brand visibility, accomplishing specific tasks requested by senior management, and creating new opportunities for financial growth for Office Sign Company, LLC, and its brands
  • Be service-oriented and assist both our account management and customer service teams in providing exceptional service to our customers; specifically, find ways to reward, thank, or troubleshoot issues that emerge for our customers so as to solidify our goal of offering the best customer service of any company in our industry and beyond
  • Suggest new products for any one of our websites that you think would lead to increased traffic, the generation of new sales, or the opening of new (beneficial) doors for our company and its brands
